LA County Yarn Crawl with A Major Knitwork
We are so excited to be part of the 8th Annual Los Angeles Yarn Crawl! This is, as always, a fiber filled adventure across LA and 2019 is going to be more the same. New things are happening this year – the biggest change is the crawl is being extended to 10 days. This will give crawlers more time to visit more shops and spend more time enjoying all the gorgeous yarns. The main crawl days are April 4th – 8th & April 11th – 13th. These are the 7 days the Yarnover Truck will be open. We have so much fun stuff planned including 4 different trunk shows, a show exclusive color, our feature yarn, and free knit & crochet patterns!
Our feature wall in the truck will be full of the wonderful work of Kemper Wray of JunkYarn. This is our Indie Dyer Showcase for March & April and we’ll have new colors coming in just for the crawl. She has created some beautiful colorways and all her colors are inspired by women! We’ll have four of her bases on the truck plus Kemper is creating a special Yarn Crawl Exclusive colorway just for us. She is basing the color on LA Native Sally Ride, the first American woman in space. We will be sharing this new color as we get closer to the crawl dates.
We have 2 different pattern trunk shows planned with two fantastic designers. We’ll have pieces from knitwear designer Juliana Lustenader and crochet designer Rachy Newin. We love to share the work of designers we have newly discovered and know you’ll like their work as much as we do! We are also including a show of knit and crochet themed jewelry and stitch markers from Susan VanDyke. Earrings by Susan are so fun and she does great work. We can’t wait to show off her good work too!
Our feature yarn for this year’s event is Western Sky Knits. All the colors we carry in Twinkle Sock and MCS Fingering will be 10% off during the crawl and our free patterns will in these yarns! The Free Knit pattern uses MCS Fingering in the Moraga Cowl by Juliana Lustenader and the Free Crochet pattern uses Twinkle Sock in the Spring Leaf by Karen Whooley. You’ll be able to see both pieces on the truck during the crawl!
Once again, the 2019 Los Angeles Yarn Crawl is from April 4th – 13th. The main crawl days are April 4th – 8th & April 11th – 13th and these are the days the Yarnover Truck will be open.
