Indie Dyer Showcase – Molly Girl Yarn

Our April Indie-Dyer Showcase features the work of Angela Cronin of Molly Girl Yarn, a music themed yarn company. We discovered her and her beautiful yarns while on a trip we took back east to attend the New York Sheep & Wool Festival.  We saw her work during Indie Untangled.  We especially loved her base with corn – the Honky Tonk DK.   Her bases are all musically-named and every colorway is inspired by a song. We have 4 bases on the Truck: Bass LineDivaHonky Tonk DK  and Honky Tonk Lite.

As a knitter and crocheter, Angela first started by selling finished items at local craft shows. After working the craft show circuit for several years she tried dying yarn as something different. In 2013 Molly Girl Yarn was born.  Having studied music business in college, Angela combined her two passions to create her music themed yarn company. She believes “Fiber arts bring people together across cultural, geographical, and linguistic barriers all the time – much the same way music does. The same way all art does”

We have four bases on the Truck this month – three are fingering weight and one is DK.  And one is brand new to Molly Girl!!

Bass Line is an awesome sock yarn that is a bouncy blend of superwash merino & nylon, perfect for all your sock needs (and everything else too)! Each skein contains 460 yards and costs $25.

Diva is a glorious sparkletastic yarn that is soft, squishy, and has enough glam to please even the pickiest of Divas! There are 435 yards of fingering weight yarn per 100g skein, 75% superwash merino yarn, 20% nylon, and 5% stellina and costs $27.

Honky Tonk DK is a blend of 75% superwash merino and 25% Ingeo (a sustainable fiber made from corn), this is a luscious, silky yarn with a unique sheen to it. Ingeo takes no dye, lending this yarn a unique luster & shine, and combined with its single ply construction, this yarn is truly special. There’s a whopping 300 yards in each skein and costs $27.

Honky Tonk Lite is a beautiful BRAND NEW fingering weight yarn for Molly Girl Yarn! An amazing blend of 75% superwash merino and 25% Ingeo (a sustainable fiber made from corn). This has the same fiber content as the Honky Tonk DK but in a thinner fingering weight!  There’s a whopping 450 yards in each skein and each costs $30!

Angela has also worked with us to create a special colorway which will only be available during the Los Angeles County Yarn Crawl.  This special color is on the Honky Tonk Kite base and we are so excited to share this with everyone.  You can get all the details on our crawl blog post HERE

You won’t want to miss out on the chance to see, squish and buy these fantastic skeins! Be sure to come find the truck during the Los Angeles County Yarn Crawl and other spots in April at one of our fun planned events!  See you soon!
