Yarn Club Year 4 – First Half Package Details

We’ve hit the half way point in Year 4 of the Yarnover Truck Yarn Club.  This year’s theme is Happiness – all the club package themes are things that make me happy and I hope they do the same for you!

We’re exploring these themes through yarns, patterns and extras.  Below are the first 3 packages of our Happiness Gradient Club.

Package #1 – Debbie – The Yarnover Truck

This package included an amazing Yarnover Truck Gradient from Apple Tree Knits. Liz did a great job on this color. It’s a gradient going from the light blue in our logo to the dark of our tires. The yarn base is the scrumptious Plush Fingering, a 100% superwash merino in a 2-ply structure.

The Knit pattern is the Happy Traveler Cowl by Karin Wilmoth

The Crochet pattern is the Rolló Cowl by  Miriam Felton

Our extras for this package included a beautiful enamel pin of our gal Debbie, created for us by Thao of Nerd Bird Makery and a fabulous set of Yarnover Truck Logo wooden stitch markers created for us by A Needle Runs Through It.

Package #2 – Fall

Apple Tree Knits used our inspiration image and created another beautiful mix of fall colors. This gradient goes from gold to orange to red to purple. It does a wonderful job of capturing all the beautiful colors of fall! The yarn we chose for this colorway is Apple Tree Knit’s Plush DK. It’s the same scrumptious 100% superwash merino in a 2-ply structure but it’s thicker.

The crochet pattern is the Fall Flowers Scarf by Carolyn Calderon

The knit  pattern is the Autumn Turnover Hat shawl by Anne Lecrivain Cozzoli

Inspired by fall we asked our friend Sarah, of The Sexy Knitter, to create a lovely leaf stitch marker necklace. This is a beautiful, and useful, piece of Jewelry that we just love.

Package #3 – California Vineyards!

Here’s the inspiration image

Inspired by our trips to Orfila Vineyards & Winery in Escondido, which we make a point to bring the truck to at least once a year, Liz really worked her magic in creating this glorious gradient colorway! She was able to incorporate all the different colors in our inspiration into this beautiful skein going from purple to green with maroon and orange in between. The yarn for this colorway is Apple Tree Knit’s exclusive base Copper Sock. It’s a 3-ply blend of 88% superwash merino and 12% copper-infused nylon with 435 yards on the skein.

The knit pattern is the Abrusco by Jen Lucas

The Crochet pattern is the Wingdale Cowl by Tian Connaughton

The package extras included a wine themed Yarn Sock from Slipped Stitch Studios and a set of End Minders for Knit and Crochet from Crafty Flutterby Creations. The End Minders are in the shape of sheep and they keep your loose ends tidy in style.
